Sandwich, state collaborate on $1M renovation to affordable housing

Trees have been trimmed and the parking lot has a fresh coat of sealant on the blacktop.

The 12 affordable housing apartments at George Fernandes Way underwent a nearly $1 million renovation. The cost was split between the state and the town, which used community preservation funds for the project.

“As you can see it came out beautifully,” Tobin Wirt, vice chairman of the Sandwich Housing Authority, said Thursday during a ribbon-cutting at the property.
