With the snip of a pair of scissors, a red-and-blue ribbon tied between two trees in a shady grove fell to the ground, signifying the rededication yesterday of 12 newly renovated affordable housing units at George Fernandes Way. The group of almost 20 residents, town officials and project coordinators applauded the success of the work.
The former weathered brown-shingled townhouses originally built in 1989 underwent a nearly $1 million renovation, spearheaded by the SHA (Sandwich Housing Authority) and the Sandwich CPC (Community Preservation Committee). The renovations were completed in mid-June. (Click to Continue)
